Therapy Using Far Infrared Light

Q. Can children use infrared saunas? A. Legally, we must say consult your physician before you or your children begin any health program, including infrared therapy. However, hospitals routinely keep newborn babies warm by applying far infrared heat as it is comforting and therapeutic. We have clients who take their young children into the saunas with them with wonderful results.

Q. How can infrared saunas be used in conjunction with exercise and before and after work-outs? A. According to research, light literally can alter basic biological functions. Studies indicate that radiant light produces a metabolic effect in the body similar to that of exercise. Lactic acid, a by-product of muscle metabolism that causes soreness and stiffness after strenuous exercise is significantly reduced after far infrared (or radiant) sauna therapy. And use of the sauna before exercise can also be beneficial as it helps increase blood circulation and acts as a "warm up" before activity.

Q. What are the advantages of owning a sauna in comparison to less expensive spa visits? A. The choice is yours. We understand that owning a sauna isn't for everyone, but realistically it could be viewed as an investment in your health and perhaps life. For many, the wonderful benefits of body penetration (up to three inches), deep detoxification and pain relief are enough to tip the scales in favor of owning one in the privacy of one's home.

Q. Does far infrared sauna therapy help the skin look better? What about cellulite? A. Many skin disorders are the result of clogged pores and environmental damage. Far infrared rays penetrate the skin to loosen oils and other debris from the pores, enhancing immunity and circulation which helps one look more radiant and beautiful. Our muscles are wrapped in a padding of fatty connective tissue and the fatty cells of the padding are held in place by a network of fibers, nourished and cleansed by body fluids. When this process is slowed down, the tissue is flooded with waste materials that thicken into gelatin-like substance and hardens to form immovable pockets called cellulite. Far infrared sauna therapy can help speed up the removal of these waste materials and yes, some of our users have reported quick loss of their cellulite with consistent sauna use.
